I am really starting to like this one now but there are many more days to nit pick.
Here is a step by step progression so far.

added the face
started the color process
struggled with backgrounds
decided on a sand background and added a sword with footprints in the background.
Increased the size of the sword and added more detail.
Added the lettering on the sword and a drop of blood.
Final image. I added some more detail to the skull on the sword and put the dragon and the beach in the background, changed the crop and added a white border to keep the Worth 1000 logo from covering the image.
